What do we do?
Catnova, always working in a network with other public and private entities, being faithful to its values, has focused its programs on strengthening the skills of the most vulnerable groups that need support to reinvent themselves and survive, such as unemployed women and young people, refugees and immigrants (from 79 different countries) and migrants over 65 years of age, among others. We collaborate with their social/occupational inclusion with personalized accompaniment and we also promote the active participation of volunteers to contribute to a change in social awareness and to make society increasingly inclusive and supportive.
Catnova in connection with the SDGs
In September 2015, 193 countries adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the United Nations General Assembly. There are 17 goals that make up the so-called 2030 Agenda, an ambitious universal agenda that places the human rights of all people at the center, leaving no one behind. Catnova's projects particularly contemplate the achievement of ten of these goals, always in the hope of making this an increasingly just, inclusive and supportive society.
With our project of socio-labor inclusion and entrepreneurship focused on women and gender equality SDG5, which represent more than 60% of the beneficiaries to whom this project offers a full and effective participation in equal conditions and to migrants, we help to reduce inequalities SDG10, with the purpose of ending poverty SDG1, promoting the economic self-sufficiency of a vulnerable group that, thanks to a quality education SDG4, will be able to have a decent job and economic growth SDG8 in the shortest possible time. Through SDG9 innovation projects, we offer training activities for volunteers and great people that help people feel useful and valued, which has a direct impact on their health and well-being SDG3.
Our Partnerships to achieve the SDG17 goals with public and private entities are aimed at actively participating in Barcelona's social action, always promoting Peace, justice and solid institutions SDG16 that ultimately have an impact on the development of sustainable cities and communities SDG11.
In summary, in total, we work on 10 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of this Universal agenda.
